Reflecting on a wonderful year: milestones, growth and innovation in technology PR

As the year draws to a close, we’re looking forward to resting up this Christmas while looking back with pride and gratitude for the numerous achievements of Comit, our team and our clients in 2024. It’s been a year of exciting developments, outstanding client successes and some fantastic milestones along the way. Let’s take a moment to celebrate some of the highlights that defined our year.

Comit: Growth and Recognition

2024 has been an exciting and rewarding year for the Comit team.

  • New clients: We were delighted to welcome several wonderful new technology clients to our roster, further broadening our reach and contributing to our continued growth.
  • New website: In August, we launched our revamped website, reflecting our shared vision and commitment to excellence.
  • Award nominations: Our innovative work was acknowledged on the global stage as we were shortlisted for two prestigious international awards:
    • Integrated Campaign of the Year at the 2024 Digital Media Awards.
    • Silver Winner for Best Collaborative Campaign at the Global Digital Excellence Awards 2024, alongside our partners at IMS Marketing.

Beyond professional achievements, our team bonded over some fantastic team activities. From the adrenaline of axe-throwing to scaling the heights of Croke Park and hiking the Dublin Mountains, we’ve shared some unforgettable moments. We also enjoyed some delicious meals and fun evenings out. All of these occasions are very special to us and we’re already looking forward to more adventures together in 2025.

The success of our clients has always been a major source of pride for us and this year was no exception. Across national, international, business and technology media, we had no shortage of impactful announcements that reached audiences far and wide. Innovative Partnerships and Growth

Many of our clients enjoyed inspiring collaborations that enabled them to contribute to worthy causes, or showcase their expertise with like-minded partners. We also saw some of our clients grow at home and internationally and are proud of the part we have played in this growth.

  • Datapac partnered with Cope Foundation to enable faster rollout of key services to over 2,800 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism across Cork City and county.
  • Granite Digital unveiled plans for a major US expansion, creating over 50 new jobs in New York.
  • Integrity360 accelerated its global reach through two major acquisitions: South African-based Grove in August and pan-European Adsigo in December.
  • Paradyn Group created 20 new cybersecurity jobs in Cork and Dublin, underlining its commitment to growth in Ireland and the UK.
  • Auxilion secured €8M in new deals, driven by the launch of its cutting-edge service management platform.
  • IT.ie announced 30 new jobs as it continued its rapid ascent in the managed services sector.
  • Storm Technology enjoyed another strong year for its cyber and digital solutions and is set for further growth following its acquisition by Littlefish.
  • DataSolutions rebranded to Climb Channel Solutions Ireland, marking a new chapter for the company as it grows its IT distribution capabilities.
  • Data Edge welcomed Himanshu Patel as its new Chief Technology Officer, adding fresh expertise to its leadership team.
  • The Noledge Group announced that it is investing €1.8 million and creating 10 jobs to expand its services in Great Britain, amid growing demand for its solutions in the market.

Recognition and Achievements

Our clients’ commitment to excellence earned them widespread recognition in 2024. There were so many awards that we couldn’t possibly list them all here. However, here are a couple of great examples.

  • Esri Ireland was crowned Best Place to Work at the 2024 Tech Excellence Awards, underscoring its commitment to enhancing employee wellbeing, promoting inclusivity, and embedding sustainability practices into its organisational culture.
  • Qualcom achieved an Azure Infrastructure designation, becoming one of Ireland’s first Microsoft partners to do so.

Pioneering Insights and Advocacy

At Comit, we pride ourselves on our second-to-none media knowledge and our ability to capture the attention and imagination of the media. This year saw our clients leading conversations on a wide range of topical issues, from energy efficiency and digital innovation, through to Christmas shopping trends.

  • Gamma published a whitepaper on BER insights, spotlighting key trends in Ireland’s housing stock.
  • Pure Telecom captured attention by highlighting the influence of social media on voter decision-making, resonating with media during election season.
  • LeanBPI explored the readiness of Irish SMEs and microenterprises for digital transformation in a report supported by the LEO Network.
  • SD Worx captivated Newstalk listeners as Eimear Byrne shared insights into her career and the future of HR during The Executive Chair interview with Bobby Kerr.
  • Equinix commissioned an economic impact report that received widespread coverage, with insightful commentary from Equinix’s managing director for Ireland, Peter Lantry
  • The Project Management Institute of Ireland highlighted AI-related challenges in its members survey, ahead of its annual conference.
  • PayPal conducted research into spends and trends over the festive season, to find out ho-ho-how people are approaching their Christmas finances.

Trailblazing Technology and Services

As a technology PR specialist, Comit works with some truly pioneering businesses. We get great satisfaction from putting their innovations on a pedestal and 2024 gave us plenty of cause for this.

  • Miagen launched GreenGen, a platform powered by a €1.8M investment to give businesses insights into their ESG data and how to streamline sustainability reporting.
  • SymPhysis Medical closed a €2.2M investment round for its groundbreaking MedTech device, bringing hope to late-stage cancer patients, as it prepares for regulatory approval in the US.
  • Servecentric signed a €10M lease extension with Digital Realty, boosting data centre capacity to serve a growing client base in Ireland and internationally.
  • Expleo launched a new €1M AI Centre of Excellence across two hubs in Dublin and Belfast to help businesses adopt AI for a range of purposes, from generative AI and fraud detection to predictive analysis and quality assurance.
  • OxygenCare expanded its digital healthcare portfolio, furthering its transformative impact on the sector.

Building a Sustainable Future

Sustainability remained a key focus for our clients, with impactful initiatives aimed at creating a greener world, which is something we care deeply about in Comit HQ.

  • Logicalis introduced a new sustainability offering to help businesses reduce their carbon footprint and be more environmentally conscious.
  • Techies Go Green hosted its first-ever live event, where over 100 members shared actionable insights on sustainable practices.
  • Equinix cemented its leadership in digital infrastructure and sustainability with a widely acclaimed economic impact report.

Celebrating Team Spirit and Looking Ahead
